A Little Lost A Little Found
General Summary for Context:
A story of a young girl who finds herself a little if not a lot lost in all aspects of her life and tangled in a love triangle.
Concise Review:
A Little Lost A Little Found is a solid beginning to the series. For me, this first installment fits nicely into the Romance/Chick Lit genres, and I believe loyal fans of these genres will really enjoy this book.
This first installment focuses on Lucy Little. We watch as her relationship with her friend Jace develops into something a little more than just friends and also the introduction of his best friend.
Although I mentioned above that lovers of romance may like this book I want to be fair and give fair warning that some scenes in this book can be quite steamy. I would say that although the MC's age is that of YA (18-years-old), the book is certainly not for that age group or at least not the younger end of the YA scale.
The female characters are well written and developed and for the most part are not clingy, whingy, nor are they a typical damsel in distress. They are strong independent thinking women who can hold their own.
The other characters are written in a way that allows the reader to glimpse into their world and feel what they feel. Quite an achievement I assure you.
So much of Lucy's life is packed into these 258 pages. We glimpse her past, are voyeurs of her present, and sit hopeful for her future as she forced to deal with not just one love interest but two.
There were times when Lucy's reactions came across as immature, and I found myself rolling my eyes a little until I remember Lucy's character's age. She is not a child and only just a woman in the eyes of society.
This is an enjoyable read for those who love romance with some sizzle and a splendid dash of mystery.
This author knows their genre, and they write it well.

Luxy Ara Starr very purposely goes by Lucy Little. Her true name is only a connection to the famous father she's never met, and the twin brother who was stolen from her before she could ever truly know him. Encapsulated in the warm embrace of her family, which includes her mother, the man she calls her dad, and her little sisters, twins themselves, Lucy only has two things on her mind: what to study when she heads off to university and how much longer she can ignore her feelings for her best friend, Jace Neil. Abruptly, her list of worries grows longer when her biological father contacts her with an invitation to meet face-to-face for the first time since she was six months old, and to meet her long-lost brother too. Not only that, but it seems that Jace's other best friend, Richard Reeves, has taken a sudden and exceptional interest in little Lucy. Stuck between the family that's always loved her and the family she's never known, between the boy who's always been by her side and the man who might see her true self more clearly than anyone else, between a chaotic past and an uncertain future, can Lucy transform this rocky road into her path to happiness?

Lucy Little was born Luxy Ara Starr. She hasn’t a clue she is the hybrid of two contrary cultures and mixed heritage. An African American for a father and an Australian outback cattle-woman for a mother.  But how did that knowledge land her in her current predicament- buried alive in a coffin six-feet under… and on the eve of Valentine’s Day?

Jace Neil is a Lucy’s childhood frenemy. Rich, abrasive and a player, Jace is a little more than her provokingly mocking friend. Only she would never admit that attraction to his face. So, what happens when his usual provoking taunt turned flirtatious? Will Jace Neil be too hot to handle?

Love has a funny way of reaching out of the trenches and grabbing them unawares. But what if those trenches are bitterly entwined in a dark web of lies and deceit? Who will Lucy choose? Jace Neil or his friend Richard Reeves?
